On June 18, 2021, we had forty-two residents stop by for Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream to celebrate the day federal troops arrived in Galveston, TX in 1865 to free the last remaining slaves. Ben & Jerry’s has displayed that they are proud supporters of equity and inclusion awareness within the United States of America, and we value and support brands, companies and organizations who care about all individuals and celebrate freedom but acknowledge the challenges as well. Our residents really appreciated getting to enjoy a sweet treat while commemorating this important day in our country’s history.
