Restricted breeds include Chow Chow, German Shepherd, Doberman Pinscher, Mastiff breeds, Staffordshire Terrier breeds, Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Cane Corso, Akita, Siberian Husky, Dogo Argentino, Alaskan Malamute, Wolf-hybrid, and mixes of these breeds.
No. Exotic animals are not permitted at The Retreat at Denton. This includes birds such as parrots and toucans, reptiles such as snakes, rodents such as ferrets, fish, and insects.

7. Management, Maintenance, & Leasing
Yes. The Retreat at Denton has an on-site management team that helps with package delivery, maintenance requests, leasing questions, and day-to-day resident support. The office is also available during operating hours for tours, general questions, and housing information.
Maintenance support is available through The Retreat at Denton’s online resident portal and on-site team. Residents can reach out for help with repairs and apartment concerns, and the staff also assists with day-to-day service needs at the property.
Yes. The Retreat at Denton uses RoomSync for roommate matching. The app helps match residents based on lifestyle preferences such as cleanliness, study habits, sleep schedules, and living preferences.
High-speed internet, cable, pest control, and all utilities except water and electricity are included in the monthly installment. Water and electricity are billed separately.
We make the reservation process simple at The Retreat at Denton. To reserve your cottage, fill out the online application found under the “Apply” tab on the main menu above.
After you’ve completed the application, we ask that you put down a deposit on your reservation. Then, when you’ve moved in, that initial deposit becomes your security deposit for the apartment.

We offer 12-month housing contracts that begin in August and end in late July. The timeline of our housing contracts is based on the UNT academic calendar.
Monthly installment payments are due on the 1st of each month, including months when the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday. The payment becomes late on the 4th.
If a resident wants to leave before the end of the housing contract, the remaining lease obligations cannot be broken. Instead, residents can assign their contract for the remainder of their lease term. Contact our leasing office to learn more about the contract reassignment process.
Yes. The Retreat at Denton offers individual housing contracts, where each resident signs for their own space rather than signing one shared contract for the entire cottage.
