Our off campus apartments near UNT are furnished with upscale appliances, stylish furniture, and most utilities, including WiFi and cable TV. The bedrooms are individually keyed, while the living areas are open and airy, so roommates and guests can socialize freely. The plethora of resort-style amenities keep residents entertained, while the designated study areas ensure they always have quiet places to work. Meanwhile, our location about 15 minutes from campus and downtown Denton makes sure that student life is every bit as fun, convenient, and memorable as it should be!

To reserve a spot at The Retreat at Denton, click the Apply Now tab and complete the application. First-time users will need to create an account, and returning users can log in to finish applications that have been started. On the application page, select the desired floor plan and other pertinent options. Upon signing the housing contract, the application process will be complete, and the apartment will be ready on move-in day! Applicants may also apply in person by visiting our leasing office, located at 1320 West Hickory St., Denton, TX, 76201. Because the demand is high for student apartments near UNT, we recommend that prospective residents apply early to make sure spots are available. We have two-, three-, and four-bedroom townhomes and thirteen floor plans, each with a unique layout, square footage, and monthly rate. Every floor plan has spacious common areas and individual bedrooms with private bathrooms and walk-in closets. The rooms are rented out individually, so applicants may apply by themselves or with roommates. All of the units are furnished and move-in ready.
Although many UNT student apartments are said to be “furnished,” no other housing community has the same definition of the word as The Retreat at Denton. Here, bedrooms have bed frames, mattresses, and desks, while living rooms feature couches, tables, and flatscreen TVs. High-speed WiFi is also available throughout the units. In the kitchens, residents find gourmet setups that include stainless steel appliances and dining areas large enough for everyone in the household. Other notable features include laundry rooms with full-size washer and dryer units and decks or patios with outdoor furniture.
We offer free roommate-matching services to all of our residents. Transfer students, in particular, find this service convenient for finding roommates. Applicants simply complete the questionnaire about hobbies and lifestyle preferences, and based on those answers, we’ll find suitable roommates for them.
We have amenities that help transfer students meet their two main goals: to concentrate on school and meet new people. When it comes to schoolwork, our designated study rooms and computer lounge are perfect substitutes for the library (and residents don’t have to leave home to use them). As for amenities for socializing, we have a clubhouse, game room, and a resort-style pool with a sunbathing deck and grilling stations. We also have recreational amenities, including a top-of-the-line fitness center, a sand volleyball court, and an expansive greenspace that’s suitable for everything from tossing around the football to walking the dog. (Yes, we’re also a pet-friendly community!)
Transfer students have enough to worry about without needing to do advanced calculus just to budget for their housing. That’s why we’ve simplified matters by making sure one monthly payment covers most of what our residents need to live, including a cottage bedroom, Internet and cable services, parking, and access to community amenities. All that’s left is to set up the electric and water utilities and fill up the fridge, and you’re good to go!
Parking is available for free throughout the community. In most cases, residents can find open spaces right outside of their cottages, eliminating long walks through the parking lot. And for bike riders, there’s plenty of room for bike storage outside and inside of the apartments.

Having recently arrived in Denton and started classes the University of North Texas, transfer students are caught in the unique situation of wanting to explore their new area but also needing to devote time to focus on school. Fortunately, our off campus housing near UNT is just minutes from many of the places students visit. The campus is only a 15-minute walk south, while the excitement of downtown Denton is about the same distance east on West Hickory Street. And when free time is scarce, multiple dining options are less than a block away. So, whatever means of transportation you use — car, bus, bike, skateboard, walking shoes — it’s easy to find your destination!

Getting away with arriving late to class is hard enough in a lecture hall, let alone a small classroom, and sometimes the professors take off points for tardiness. So, if you sleep in or dress slowly, our location near the campus will save you time — and it may just save your grade!
4-Minute Drive To Downtown Denton
If you’re a fan of restaurants, nightclubs, or coffee shops, you’ll want to hang out in downtown Denton. Here, students find the heart of the action clustered around the intersection of South Elm Street and West History Street. Drive downtown in four minutes, or walk there in about 15 minutes.
